HOW TO COOK BACON IN THE OVEN

One of the lifestyle changes that I made to lose 35 pounds over 40 was to adapt a low carb diet. Although challenging at first, I have come to love the way a low carb diet has changed my life and my body. I certainly have my favorites when it comes to low carb food choices and bacon is certainly one of them, especially when cooked in the oven. Cooking Bacon in the Oven is my favorite way to prepare it and I can’t wait to show you how I do this!

Come with me as I cook Bacon in the Oven. I have always cooked Bacon on the stove top but hated all of the spatter mess so when I heard about this easy way to make bacon, I just had to try it! Baking bacon in the oven results in perfectly crispy, delicious strips every time. It’s incredibly easy, creates less mess than stovetop cooking, and lets you multitask in the kitchen. If you’ve never tried it, you’re missing out! Oven-cooked bacon ensures even crispiness without the hassle. Yet, many people still stick to the stovetop, despite the splatters and uneven cooking.

On the stove, some slices can burn while others remain undercooked due to hot spots. In the oven, bacon cooks evenly as heat surrounds each slice, allowing them to sizzle to perfection without the mess. Once you try this method, you’ll never go back!I first posted this new to me way of cooking bacon on my

Instagram stories a few weeks and I received so many valuable preparation tips and requests for the recipe so here you go!

HOW TO COOK COSTCO BACON IN THE OVEN

Of course I am using the Kirkland brand from Costco which is our family’s favorite. First, you will want to line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Both will work great! Place your pieces side by side on your tray without them overlapping.

Cook the bacon at 400 degrees for 10-20 minutes depending on how crispy you like your bacon. I will often take a few pieces out after 10 minutes and then put the tray back in for a few more minutes since some members of my family like their bacon a lot crispier than the others.

RECIPE

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees
  • Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper
  • Lay the bacon side by side on your baking sheet
  • Cook the bacon for 10-20 minutes depending on how crispy you like it
  • Remove bacon from the oven and place on a paper towel lined plate
  • Enjoy!

BENEFITS TO COOKING BACON IN THE OVEN

First, baking bacon is perfect for feeding a crowd—even if that “crowd” is just your family. This is especially helpful during the holidays or when guests fill your home, making kitchen chaos a little more manageable.

Second, oven-cooked bacon is far cleaner than stovetop cooking. I’m guilty of cranking the heat too high, leading to grease splatters everywhere. But in the oven, bacon simply sizzles away without the mess, cooking to crispy perfection (or whatever doneness you prefer).

Lastly, baking bacon lets you multitask. Once that sheet pan of deliciousness is in the oven, you’ve got about 15 minutes to whip up eggs, pancakes, or waffles—no constant flipping required!
